Interstate wrong-way car accident kills one

One person is dead after an accident on I-75. Reports indicate a wrong-way driver entered the interstate and caused a wreck that involved may have involved as many as four other vehicles. The victim's identity is unclear at this time, but in these types of crashes it is not uncommon for an unsuspecting motorist to be killed and for the errant driver to survive.

No family wants to hear the awful news that a loved one was killed in a car accident. Yet, each year, many Tennessee and Knoxville families have to cope with the loss of a loved one at the hands of a negligent driver. These families are often left emotionally distraught, wondering how they can move on. Additionally, finances might unexpectedly become strained when medical expenses mound up and funeral expenses become due. Also, a family may have relied on the deceased's income, making it difficult or impossible to pay everyday bills.

When this is the scenario, surviving family members should seriously consider taking legal action. By filing a wrongful death lawsuit against a negligent driver, a family might recover compensation to provide financial stability and obtain closure. However, these cases are rarely easy, legally and emotionally, and it can therefore be beneficial to acquire legal assistance when bringing forth a claim.

Showing that the negligence of another caused the car accident that killed a loved one is a key component of a successful wrongful death case. However, in the case of a wrong-way driver, it may be easy to show negligence. A surviving family's attorney can delve into the facts to get to the truth of the matter and to maximize a family's potential recovery so that they can focus on getting their lives back on track in remembrance of their loved one.
