The beginning of a new month started with a tractor-trailer and car accident on I-75 in Tennessee. According to officials, the accident happened Thursday morning on Southbound I-75 near the Ringgold Road Bridge.
Investigators on the scene reported that the tractor-trailer had struck the Ringgold Road Bridge over I-75 causing the tractor-trailer to break apart, spilling its load of produce, which covered two lanes of traffic on the highway. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a car traveling south along I-75 lost control and spun into the lane of the tractor-trailer and hit it head-on. After the initial car-truck crash, the truck struck the bridge.
The driver of the car was transported to the hospital, where his condition is unknown, and the driver of the tractor trailer had non-life threatening injuries.
While we don't know the extent of the injuries of either driver, a car accident like this one can have serious repercussions for everyone involved. The emotional, physical and financial strain can be hard to handle after the accident. For cases like this, it's important to speak with a personal injury attorney as they understand how car accidents can have life-altering consequences. They will work with you to determine your options to get you the compensation that you deserve.
After the accident, the highway was shut down so that road crews could clean up the accident scene and remove the spilled load of produce. Investigators also evaluated the bridge and determined that the bridge is still structurally sound for travel.
