Fatal accidents in Tennessee climbed in 2012

If 2011 seemed like a quiet year for car accidents, it is because 2011 saw the lowest number of fatal car accidents on record. Unfortunately, the preliminary report released by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Department of Safety and Homeland security, and the Governor's Highway Safety Office painted 2012 in a different light. According to the report, there were 1,019 fatal accidents last year, 246 from drunk driving accidents alone. This is an increase over 2011, and one that should not be taken lightly.

Inattentive driver causes crash, kills motorcyclist

Many Tennesseans have a passion for motorcycle riding. With nothing between him and the open road, a motorcyclist can feel free from the stresses of the world. Sadly, these joyrides can turn disastrous in the blink of an eye. A failure to yield on the part of an inattentive driver can cause a tragic motorcycle accident that can leave the accident victim with serious injuries. A recent crash serves as an example of how dangerous negligent drivers can be to motorcyclists.

5th DUI charge made against man after drunk driving accident

The road is a dangerous place. The negligence of another driver can place even the safest motorists at risk of an auto accident. One of the most dangerous drivers on the road is the drunk driver. With reckless disregard for traffic laws and human well-being, these drivers can cause a wreck that causes serious injuries or death. And, as a recent case in Murfreesboro illustrates, the criminal justice system does little to aid a victim of a drunk driving accident and keep these dangerous motorists off the road.

Pedestrian injured in single car accident

Driving a car can be dangerous. Other drivers can be distracted, negligent, or drunk. While a car crash involving two vehicles can be serious, causing severe injuries and death, there is perhaps an even more dangerous type of accident: the single-vehicle wreck involving a pedestrian. Since pedestrians lack the safety features provided by a vehicle, they face extreme risk of catastrophic injury when struck by a vehicle.

Campbell County accident leaves 3 dead

Many people think that if they drive attentively and take notice of other drivers they will avoid accidents. While being alert can greatly reduce the risk, the fact is that a car accident can take one by surprise at any time. These wrecks are often tragic, leaving victims seriously injured or even dead. One such fatal accident happened on Christmas Eve in Campbell County.
