Fatal accident in Knoxville leaves bicyclist dead

Bicycles are just as valid a form of transportation as are cars, trucks and public transportation. Several people rely on their bikes to reach work, school and family functions. Many others ride them for the mere joy of enjoying nature or getting exercise. Yet, when riding on the road, many bicyclists find themselves in danger of being struck by motor vehicles. Even when a street does not have a bicycle lane, motorists should still share the road and look out for bikers. Sadly, it seems as if one Knoxville motorist did not heed this advice recently.

The Knoxville Police Department is investigating the death of a bicycler after a deadly car accident. According to reports, police found the victim in critical condition at an intersection, but the rider later died at the hospital. Police believe the bicyclist was hit by a truck that apparently left the scene.

The loss of a loved is never an easy experience. The deceased's family is likely caught off guard and is devastated by the sudden loss. In addition to never hearing their loved one's voice or laugh again, or watching his beloved quirks, a family must cope with the reality that a fatal accident has left them with financial responsibilities. After an accident, there are likely medical expenses that must be paid and, in the sad event of death, funeral bills will have to be taken care of without help from the deceased's income. An attorney can help these families relieve their financial responsibilities.

The best option for obtaining this goal is to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the negligent driver. If a case is won and compensation is received, then the surviving family can pay off funeral expenses and other bills. Also, the family may be able to obtain awards to compensate for any pain and suffering felt by the deceased before passing.

The negligence of another can ruin a family in a matter of seconds. Yet, while the emotional pain lingers and may never go away, the financial reminders do not have to when the family seeks a little legal help.
