Fatal accident occurs after Tennessee man rear-ended

Driving has become so common for many Tennesseans that it has simply become part of the daily routine that does not require much thought. Unfortunately, though, this seemingly minute part of our days is riddled with danger. Distracted, drunk, reckless, and otherwise negligent drivers populate Tennessee's roadways and, in the blink of an eye, can cause a tragic accident.

Sadly, one such fatal accident recently occurred on I-40 near Knoxville. There, during rush hour, a man slowed for traffic in front of him, but was rear ended when the vehicle behind him failed to follow suit. The man's vehicle was then slammed into another car in front of him. That man died in the wreck. Three others were injured in the crash.

The loss of a loved one can be utterly heartbreaking, especially when it occurs in an untimely manner and by the negligence of another. Surviving family members can be left with extreme emotional pain as they will never hear their loved one laugh again or celebrate life events with him or her. To make matters worse, a family can also be left with financial difficulties stemming from funeral expenses, medical costs, and lost wages.

Those who lose a loved one in a car accident may be able to take legal action. By speaking with an experienced Knoxville attorney, these individuals can discover the possibility of suing a negligent driver in hopes of recovering compensation. If successful, awards can help a surviving family recoup lost wages, pay off medical and funeral expenses, and find the sense of closure they deserve.
