Hit-and-run leaves pedestrian injured

A previous post here discussed how Tennessee residents can try to avoid pedestrian accidents. Unfortunately, as one recent wreck shows, these instances continue to occur. When they do, victims can be left with a changed life. They may be forced to deal with physical pain, significant medical expenses and lost wages. The good news is that if these individuals were harmed by the negligence of another person, they might be able to recover much needed compensation for their losses.

A Sevier County man may want to consider doing this after he was recently injured in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident. According to reports, the man was struck by a truck that then fled the scene. There are no witnesses to the crash as of yet, but the man was found in the street near his driveway. He is currently in stable condition, but was taken to the hospital for his injuries. Authorities continue the search for the individual responsible for causing the accident.

Recovering from an incident like this can be emotionally, financially and physically challenging. Filing a personal injury lawsuit may be the last thing on a victim's mind, but taking legal action may lead to much needed relief. If successful, a lawsuit can help provide money to cover accumulated medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering. Although it may not allow a victim to fully recover physically, it can help pay for the medical care needed to recover.

There are many ways that a lawsuit can play out. There may be negotiations and a settlement, or the matter might proceed to trial. Either way, victims need to ensure that they are protecting their legal rights.
