Football players injured in Knox County crash

Tennesseans of all ages take to the road on a daily basis. Whether it is for school, work or enjoyment, driving is an integral part of our lives. Though there are laws and safety measures implemented into the cars we drive, it may not be enough to prevent a negligent driver from taking an individual by surprise and causing an injurious or fatal accident. In these instances, victims can be left with a long road to recovery, as the physical, emotional and financial losses can be significant.

This may be the case for two Hardin Valley football players after they were recently harmed in an accident in a West Knox wreck. According to reports, a car lost control and slammed into the SUV where the victims were riding. The two of the victims were rushed to the hospital. The driver of the car was cited for driving too fast for the conditions at the time of the collision.

Though the extent of these individuals' injuries is unknown at this time, the harm suffered in these types of accidents can be quite severe. A victim may suffer cuts and broken bones, but he or she might also suffer disfigurement and permanent disability. The injuries can cause long-lasting pain, and the financial costs associated with treating and rehabilitating such injuries can be quite extensive. In addition, an individual who is working to earn to earn a wage may temporarily, or permanently, be unable to work due to the accident injuries.

Therefore, those hurt by a negligent driver should carefully consider this or her legal options. A successful lawsuit against a negligent driver could lead to the recovery of significant compensation to help cover medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
